Katarina Holm DiDio, Executive and Leadership Team Coach
International Systemic Team Coaching Certificate
Hi, I'm Kat!
In 1998, I moved from my native Finland to New York City. I was the first in my family to earn a college degree and, like many others, I craved the energy, inspiration, and diversity of life in NYC. Before founding my independent coaching practice, I held positions in Career Services at Columbia University SIPA and in HR, Recruitment, and Staff Development at the United Nations. My expertise lies in international and highly-demanding professional contexts—since founding my practice, my work has taken me to Helsinki, Rome, Bangkok, and Bonn and I’ve worked with leaders based across six continents.
As a coach, I take a holistic approach to professional success informed by my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Health and well-being, which often go neglected, are key parts of my practice. My research-backed coaching framework incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Positive Psychology, Co-active Coaching, Team Dynamics, and Intercultural Communication Frameworks.
Sisu—the Finnish concept of resilience—and my own personal experiences as an immigrant have deeply influenced my coaching philosophy. My approach to coaching is built upon a core belief in our human capacity to learn and grow, to succeed through challenges, and live and lead with purpose.
Alongside my coaching practice, I have founded, led, and developed several global and local non-profit community organizations over the past 30 years. As a leader, I am driven by my values to make a difference by strengthening communities through engagement. Learn more about my leadership experience on my LinkedIn.
"I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Kat on several leadership initiatives. We founded two non-profits together and I recruited her to serve on the FACC-NY Board. Kat is a consummate board leader—she is strategic, insightful, and always prepared to deliver results. She is a collaborative leader who, with her positive and energetic personality, brings people together to achieve a common goal. As a friend and coach I consider her a trusted advisor."
